Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Officers (IEOs) fulfil an important role in ACT public schools by supporting school leaders, classroom teachers and other school staff to improve their knowledge and practice of cultural integrity. This includes the development and sourcing of teaching and learning resources related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures; and supporting schools to build relationships and understanding between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous students, families, and community members.
