You will be supporting female participants with complex needs and high-level behavioural issues. We focus on providing a human rights-based approach to person-centred care.Your responsibilities include:implementing strategies for preventing and managing difficult behaviours.implementing de-escalation techniques for preventing and defusing behaviours of concern.managing and difficult situations where participant is acting unpredictably or exhibiting challenging behaviour.implementing positive approaches, communication and safe ways of doing common tasks such as providing personal care. Personal care assistance may include bowel management, showering, meal preparation and everyday activities.assisting, supporting and chaperoning outside the home environment which may include transportation of your client.assisting with medication compliance which will include dispensation of prescription medication.working collaboratively with treating teams and allied health professionals.About You As an experienced Disability Support Worker, you will bring with you a wonderful attitude and approach that is client focused. With the participant's needs front and centre, you will have:proven experience in providing direct support to complex needs clients who require a high level of care, behaviour management and physical assistance to complete daily activitiesstrong manual handling skills including hoist and wheelchairpractical knowledge working with individuals with behaviours of concern as well as experience across both physical and mental disabilities.Basic administrative tasks - report in app daily progress notes and complete comprehensive handovers at the end of each shift.Ability to confidently report to management in case of any incidents or issues.Mandatory Documents: Full Driver's Licence, and own vehicle with insurance.NDIS Clearance.National Police Check dated within 3 months of employment.Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with NT Legislation.Any relevant qualifications such as Certificate or Degree in any field relevant to Community Services, Aged + Disability Care or Individual Support.P3 or MAYBO training (not essential however highly regarded).Full availability including sleepovers and active nights.What's on Offer Fixed Line Rosters to promote efficiency and to ensure stability and consistency across all homes for both employees and participants.Renumeration is accordance with the SCHADS Award.Industry leading learning platform that offers hundreds of courses.Employee of the Month.MAYBO and P3 Training.*Please note that if you have previously applied to a historical advertisement, we have your application on file, and you do not need to re-apply.
