We are currently seeking a Senior Communications Advisor to lead communication and community engagement efforts for a high-profile transport infrastructure project. About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will develop and deliver comprehensive communication and engagement strategies that inform, engage, and build trust with stakeholders and the broader community. You will serve as a key advisor to project leadership, ensuring consistent, timely, and effective messaging throughout all phases of the project.
Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
* Develop and implement strategic communication plans aligned with project objectives and timelines.
* Lead community engagement activities, including public consultations and stakeholder outreach.
* Create engaging content for a range of channels, including media releases, newsletters, social media, and project updates.
* Liaise with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely communications.
* Prepare briefing materials, speeches, and presentations for senior leaders and stakeholders.
* Monitor media, public sentiment, and industry trends to inform communication strategy.
* Manage crisis communications and issues resolution to protect the project's reputation.
* Provide high-level advice on communications and engagement matters to senior leadership.
* Evaluate communication effectiveness and report on community engagement outcomes.
* Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
* Mentor and support junior communication staff to foster a collaborative, high-performing environment.
* Some travel to construction site offices may be required and will be discussed at the time of engagement.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Mandatory Requirements
* Minimum five (5) years' experience in communications and community engagement, preferably within infrastructure, construction, or government sectors.
* International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) Certification or willingness to obtain it independently.
* Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing
* Current Class C Driver's Licence.
* Proven ability to deliver impactful communication strategies for complex projects.
* Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills with strong attention to detail.
* Strong project management and time-management capabilities.
* Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Familiarity with the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) framework is advantageous.
* Must have Australian full working rights.
