What you will be doing:
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is currently recruiting to our Pharmacy Technician Casual Pool to assist with positions throughout our district that covers from Lithgow/ Portland down to Penrith/ St Marys. This position is open to Pharmacy Technicians, Grade 1 and 2, who are available and looking for casual positions within NSW Health that will offer flexibility as well as a varied workload.
The role will be responsible to the Director of Pharmacyfor the provision of a safe, efficient and effective distribution of pharmaceuticals to wards and departments and providing assistance in the preparation of manufactured sterile and non-sterile products, and dispensing of prescriptions and associated clerical duties.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed:
1. Successfully completed a qualification in a relevant field recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia or up to the level of Certificate III issued by a Registered Training Organisation in Hospital and community Pharmacy (eg Charles Sturt University) or has qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent or successfully completed a nationally recognised Pharmacy Technician Certificate Course at Certificate Level IV or has qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent.
2. Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and possess good time management skills.
3. Demonstrated ability to integrate well with the other staff working as part of the team.
4. Demonstrated good attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work output.
5. Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.
6. Previous Australian Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.
