Field Service Engineer - Sydney
Our client is a global authority on the application, management and manufacture of world-class detection and security screening technology. They deliver the solutions you need to protect society from the threat and illegal passage of explosives, prohibited weapons, contraband, toxic chemicals and narcotics.
You will be responsible for installation and commissioning for equipment at customer sites across Sydney.
The work environment is typically airports, cargo facilities, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise terminals or other locations as required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Carry out service, maintenance and installation of electrical, electronic, mechanical equipment and systems; - Full product training provided
2. Inspection, repair, testing and adjustments of equipment;
3. Provision of technical support to customers and sales/project staff;
4. Maintenance of technical skills and development of technical knowledge;
5. Liaison with Company factories and support staff as required;
6. Work closely with 3rd party service providers.
7. Maintenance of appropriate technical licences, security licences and security passes;
8. Provision of basic safety and operator training on completion of any installation or new works.
9. Exercises every available measure to control and minimise costs.
10. Regional support travel on overtime beyond work hours may be required.
11. Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
12. Other duties as required by the Team Lead.
You:
13. Electro-mechanical qualification or equivalent technical training/experience.
14. Excellent troubleshooting skills with a minimum of 3 years’ experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
15. Be a self-motivated and proactive individual with a high level of initiative and desire to succeed.
16. Advanced level of oral and written English to be able to communicate with multiple stakeholders.
17. Due to the security industry requirements, to be successful in this role you would need to be able to pass all the relevant security clearance processes, imposed by the customer and/or site.
18. Possess excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask several projects at once.
19. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations.
20. Self-starter, being able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
21. Clean drivers licence.
22. Ability to acquire and maintain relevant security clearance and industry related licences.
23. Able to work a rotating roster, Morning shift - Afternoon - Night shifts.
