About the Role BOQ's highly regarded Procurement team has a fantastic immediate opportunity for an IT Procurement Manager to join our team.
You will be an experienced Procurement professional or an up-and-coming star who will deliver procurement solutions that maximise value, manage risk, improve efficiencies and ensure quality for the BOQ Group.
We are looking for someone who has a broad set of procurement skills with a flexible and adaptable approach.
You will be working across a range of technology, software and other related services and projects within the Bank including core banking and origination platforms.
The role involves creating comprehensive category plans, leading market engagement activities, negotiating robust contracts, managing supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies, analysing supplier and spend data, conducting market analysis, identifying cost saving opportunities, and collaborating with business stakeholders to gain approval for significant sourcing strategies.
This position will be critical to deliver procurement solutions that maximise value, manage risk, improve efficiencies, and ensure quality for the BOQ Group.
A typical day will entail developing and delivering strategic sourcing solutions that support BOQ Group strategic direction, through the procurement lifecycle including planning, sourcing, contract negotiation, contract management, stakeholder and supplier management.
About you Our successful candidate will be spirited and passionate and enjoy being a part of our energetic and high performing Procurement team, who are transforming and raising the profile of Procurement at BOQ!
You should have experience in a centralised, multi-category environment and possess significant experience in a strategic sourcing role within one or more spend categories.
Previous exposure to the Banking & Finance sector will see you hit the ground running in the role but is not mandatory.
You will also possess strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills up to the executive level, with a commercial and data-driven procurement acumen.
You will be confident in tailoring communication across management levels, engage collaboratively to build positive internal and external relationships, and have established problem-solving and strategy development skills.
Additionally, you are someone with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, a high level of accountability, energy, enthusiasm, a "can-do" attitude, and the ability to work autonomously to meet strict deadlines.
