The Role An opportunity has arisen for an Associate or Senior Associate to join the firm’s professional indemnity team in Sydney. The successful candidate will work on high-profile professional indemnity matters, defending claims against professionals in sectors such as construction, financial services, and legal services. Key responsibilities include: Managing a caseload of professional indemnity matters, including complex and high-value claims. Drafting pleadings, correspondence, and legal advice for clients. Conducting legal research and advising clients on risk management and coverage issues. Representing clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations. Collaborating with senior practitioners on strategic litigation and dispute resolution. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, insurers, and industry stakeholders. The Candidate The firm is seeking a motivated and experienced insurance litigation lawyer with the following attributes: A minimum of 3 years' post-admission experience in professional indemnity or insurance litigation. Strong knowledge of insurance law, civil procedure, and liability disputes. Exceptional drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills. The ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently while collaborating within a team. A commercial mindset with a focus on client service and business development. Experience in handling claims in construction, financial services, or professional services will be highly regarded.
