Experience the rewards of making a difference in older people's lives by showing compassion and care.The opportunityThe Royal Freemasons community is looking for an experienced and motivated Chef Manager to join our team at Coppin Centre Residential Aged Care Facility in Melbourne.The Chef is responsible for the safe provision of quality food and beverage services to our residents, ensuring the individual nutritional requirements and preferences of each resident are met.Qualifications and ExperienceTrade Certificate in Cookery or higher-level qualificationFood Safety Supervisors CertificateIdeally previous experience within an Aged Care environmentKey responsibilities includeMonitor all records according to the Food Safety Plans and the requirements of the organisationEnsure that all stock is rotated so that 'first in' goes 'first out'Ensure that all storage areas (dry stores, fridges, freezers) are kept clean and tidy at all timesMaintain budget cost requirements per resident/dayConduct appraisals, provide feedback, and performance manage staff within the scope of HR Procedures or with HR / FM advice and supportMaintain a professional approach at all timesMaintain harmonious relationships with residents, staff, and visitors at all timesOrder food suppliesCoordinate and receive delivery of goods as requiredVerify invoices against received goodsConsult with Dietician regarding residents' nutritional needsEnsure the FM is briefed and kept regularly informed regarding the operations of the departmentMeeting required Aged Care Quality StandardsAn ability to undertake unannounced accreditation visits within the residential home environmentMaintaining OH&S complianceKey RequirementsIt is a mandatory requirement when working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Clearance or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Clearance, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of this role.All Aged Care workers must be vaccinated against Covid-19 (3 vaccines) and are encouraged to receive the Flu-Vaccine.
