Sydney Water, in partnership with Delivering 4 Customers (D4C), is delivering design, construction, maintenance, and facilities management services across Sydney's Southern Region.
D4C is a consortium consisting of John Holland, Service Stream, and WSP.
This opportunity is for an experienced Excavator Operator to join D4C's team, delivering excellence in the Southern Region.
Job Summary
This position involves assisting in excavation and operating newly constructed watermains, pump stations, refurbished pump stations, and large-scale treatment projects. Individuals can expect to work on various projects ranging from 6-12 months, with ongoing permanent work. Tasks will also include manual laboring duties, working on live sites, and maintaining attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
* Excavation and operation of watermains, pump stations, and treatment projects
* Manual laboring tasks, including backfilling and shoring
* Operating excavators, front-end loaders, and trucks (MR/HR or HC license desirable)
* Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to company policies
Requirements
* Experience in civil utilities, trenching, and shoring
* Excavator tickets (SOA/VOC) and white card
* Physical fitness to complete all tasks
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience operating 25-40 tonne excavators
* Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Professional customer service capabilities
Work Environment
This role operates Monday to Friday, 7am start, with 40 hours per week. Ad hoc night shifts may be required to support capital work projects.
