The Northern Agricultural Development team is located in Kununurra, Broome, Karratha and Nash Street, Perth. It is a dynamic, cohesive and high-performance team with a strong ethos of mutual support and cross project collaboration to deliver required, often complex, outcomes.
Due to significant project activity, we now have multiple Perth and Regional based opportunities available across our Team. Operating within Regional Business Development in the Industry and Economic Development pillar, Northern Agricultural Development aims to drive and facilitate high-impact regional development, that contributes to economic growth, diversification, job creation and strong communities in the state’s North.
Our work is undertaken in strong partnership and collaboration within DPIRD and with WA's Northern Regional Development Commissions and other areas of local/state/federal government, as well as diverse industry and community stakeholders.

Project Support Officer 70220104 – Perth
Level 3 | Fixed Term Contract – Full Time
The Project Support Officer position provides administrative and secretarial support, predominately to staff managing the Ord Expansion project, but also to other projects where required, in delivering project outcomes and objectives. It provides support to develop and record projects including costing and budgets, coordinate project approval processes, support contract development, undertake project financial management processes, and contribute to project reconciliation and reporting processes.
Senior Project Officer 70190884 – Kununurra or Perth
Level 6 | Permanent – Full Time
The Senior Project Officer backs the Ord Expansion project team, and other projects where required, to deliver development and other outcomes in support of Government and Departmental objectives. This position provides guidance and delivers outcomes on land planning and broader development processes, water policy and regulation, environmental regulation and approvals (State and Federal) and provides direct support to the Senior Environmental Manager.
Senior Project Officer 70230429 – Perth
Level 6 | Permanent – Full Time
This Senior Project Officer is a new role, created to provide broad ranging support to the Northern Agricultural Development team across a wide variety of areas. The position reports to the Director and will manage and coordinate, the delivery of team obligations in relation to Ministerials and other formal requests, team communication strategies and actions, stakeholder engagement, development of Business Cases, funding applications and team strategic documents. This position will also be responsible for coordinating discrete projects as required whilst providing broader team support in the delivery of required outcomes.
Emergency Preparedness Coordinator 70230376 – Broome (preferred) or Kununurra
Level 6 | Permanent – Full Time
This newly created Emergency Preparedness Coordinator position supports and coordinates the development of a cross-agency emergency management arrangements in the north of Western Australia. Emergency management arrangements ensure the department is well prepared to respond to incidents which may impact on the sustainability and international competitiveness of Western Australia’s agriculture, aquatic and food industries.
This role will assist in increasing the capacity of the region to respond to incidents and collaborate with all directorates of DPIRD to coordinate preparedness activities for the region. It will also support the development and delivery of relevant emergency management systems, planning, and preparedness for incident and emergency management for both internal and external stakeholders.
The preference is for the position to be located in Broome, but consideration will be given to other Kimberley or Pilbara locations.
