The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Mental Health - Crisis Stabilisation Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
1. Provide evidence based best practice and clinical leadership
2. Undertake clinical assessment, management/treatment planning, clinical interventions, to support a comprehensive assessment
3. Utilise clinical skills commensurate to individual level of experience
4. Contribute to the clinical education of students and other less experienced staff in consultation with the support of senior clinical staff
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
5. A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
6. Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
7. Be credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
8. A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
9. Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
10. Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
11. Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
12. Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
22. Permanent full time and permanent part time (several positions, hrs negotiable)
23. Base salary ranging from $107 960 - $115 604 per annum, $54.44 - $58.30 per hour

The Mental Health Crisis Stabilisation Unit provides consumers presenting with a mental health crisis/illness a safe, supportive environment for acute mental health assessment, treatment, and management, including a range of short-term options tailored to meet individual needs. The core principles embedded in all aspects of this model of service includes trauma informed care, zero suicide, reduction in seclusion and restraint, and Integrated Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug service interventions.
