The Royal Hobart Hospital is the major provider of tertiary health services in southern Tasmania, including cardio-thoracic surgery and adult and neo-natal intensive care. The Cardiology Department provides an extensive range of high-quality diagnostic and interventional services.
The Role:
As a senior member of the Cardiac Physiologist team within the Department of Cardiology, the Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiographer contributes to the provision and development of an efficient, high-quality Echocardiography service at the Hospitals South by:
* Working collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate optimal patient management through the provision of timely Echocardiograms and provisional Echocardiography reports to the Cardiologist.
* Assisting in the coordination of the Echocardiography service and service development.
* Contributing to the training and supervision of level 1-2 Cardiac Physiologists and Cardiology Registrars in the field of Echocardiography.
Details of Appointment:
Two Permanent full-time, day worker (with on-call) positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Fixed term, part-time, day worker (with on-call) position working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing 19 March 2025 for a period of 7 months.

Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study at a recognised tertiary institution, and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.
* Undergraduate or post-graduate tertiary qualification in Echocardiography.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
* Eligibility for accreditation in Australia by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
* Experience in paediatric echocardiography.
* At least 3 years postgraduate experience.
* Current Driver’s Licence.
