We are currently looking for an Employment and Industrial Relations Advisor to join the EIR team at their East Melbourne office (3002). This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your experience and advance your EIR career.
In this role, you will assist members by providing guidance on employment legislation and industry regulations. While your focus will be on advising legal and regulatory matters—including employment law, HR, and industrial relations—you'll have the chance to apply your legal expertise in a non-practitioner capacity.
Responsibilities:
* Provide guidance and advice on a range of employment and industrial relations matters, including long service leave and unfair dismissal claims
* Help members mitigate risks, adopt best practices, and achieve positive outcomes throughout the employment lifecycle, from onboarding to termination or redundancy
* Help members draft, negotiate, and lodge enterprise agreements
* Advise and represent members in industrial disputes
* Create and maintain guides, templates, and educational materials for members
* Liaise with unions, entitlement funds, and regulators to support member interests
* Prepare and deliver webinars, seminars, and presentations on critical EIR topics
* Provide excellent customer service, mostly via phone, as well as via email, and at times face to face
What's On Offer:
* Full-time, permanent position
* Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 + super (depending on experience)
* Monday - Friday, regular office hours
* Hybrid position, flexibility to work from their East Melbourne (3002) office as well as to work from home (2-3 split)

What We're Looking For:
* Experience in employment and industrial relations or a related field
* Degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Law, or similar preferred
* Understanding of relevant legislation, employment laws, including the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth); knowledge of building and construction industry regulations is a plus
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, are a must
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a knack for providing practical solutions
* Experience in representing clients or members in industrial disputes.
* Attention to detail and strong planning and organisational skills.
