Administration and Family Support Worker

Centacare Family Services offers relationship and community services to individuals, couples and families.
Centacare Family Services are currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified community service workers with a strong administration background to join our Geraldton based Children’s Contact Service team.
A remuneration package based on the SCHCADS Award 2010 will be offered based on skills and experience; level 3.1 $37.35/hour plus superannuation and salary sacrifice option.
This position is Part-time working 22.5 hours per week.
Key Functions
* Generalised administration support to our Children’s Contact Service team, including client scheduling, data entry and records management.
* Oversee the exchange of children between separated parents in situations of conflict or family violence.
* Supervise contact visits between parents and children where abuse, mental health, drug and alcohol use or parenting issues have been raised.
* Ensure a high quality of service delivery, and client focus is maintained.
Selection Criteria: Qualifications
* Certificate IV in Community Services or similar qualification in a related community service field. Consideration can be given to applicants currently undertaking this qualification or with similar/relevant experience.
* Knowledge of child development in relation to childhood trauma - desirable.
Selection Criteria: Skills & Experience
* Sound verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated competence in MS Office programs, Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills to support and empower clients, including demonstrated ability to de-escalate high conflict situations that arise.
* Knowledge and experience working with families experiencing relationship difficulties, including a sound understanding of family violence, mental health issues, drug and alcohol abuse.
* Knowledge of child protection and child development.
* Ability to work effectively with other team members.
* Ability to be neutral, impartial and non-judgmental.
* Ability to work within the philosophy and ethos of Centacare.
Successful applicants will hold, or be able to obtain, a WA Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance no older than 12 months, and a current WA Driver’s License.
