Officer Governance Role Overview Gympie Regional Council is seeking a skilled Officer Governance to offer confidential advice and administrative support to the Manager of Governance, Integrity and Risk, and the Coordinator of Governance and Native Title.
This position demands initiative and sensitivity in managing governance-related tasks.
We are looking for someone to: Provide timely and confidential advice and administrative support.
Assist in implementing new and revised legislation.
Support the Governance team with council meetings and workshops.
Develop work methods and provide input into governance procedures and policies.
Ensure legislative processes and requirements are met.
Coordinate and maintain corporate registers and planning processes.
Improve governance systems and procedures.
Essential Knowledge & Skills: Principled approach adhering to the Code of Conduct.
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
High-level written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
Proficiency in using various software applications.
Demonstrated ability to manage workflows and set prioritie Queensland 'C' Class driver's licence that is current and maintained.
Desirable Requirements: A good knowledge and understanding of the functions of local government including legislative, policy and procedural requirements of Queensland's Local Government Act 2009 and associated regulations.
Ability to interpret and apply legislation.
Minimum three years' experience in a similar role.
