Team Management & Development - Supervise and mentor production staff, fostering a high-performance and safety-focused culture.
Hazardous Materials Handling - Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of dangerous goods in line with regulatory requirements.
Process & Quality Improvement - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and maintain ISO compliance.
Safety & Compliance - Implement and enforce OHS&E policies, conduct risk assessments, and ensure regulatory adherence.
The Successful ApplicantExperience: Minimum 5-7 years in a production management role within chemical manufacturing or similar industries.
Demonstrated experience handling dangerous goods and hazardous materials in a regulated environment.
Leadership & People Management: Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team, including supervisors, operators, and technicians.
Strong skills in coaching, training, and performance management, fostering a high-performance culture focused on safety and productivity.
Safety & Compliance: In-depth knowledge of OHS&E regulations and experience implementing safety protocols for handling hazardous substances.
Ability to conduct risk assessments, manage safety audits, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 19001:2015 standards.
Process & Quality Improvement: Experience in optimising production processes, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining product quality standards.
Ability to identify non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions while ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., EPA, Trade Waste Technical Expertise: Familiarity with inventory management software and proficiency in data analysis to drive improvements.
Chemical safety certifications and knowledge of manufacturing systems are highly desirable.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external contractors.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
Certification in Dangerous Goods Handling and Chemical Safety.
Additional qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) would be an advantage.
