People Division, led by the Chief People Officer (CPO), provides human resources (HR) functions for the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the department) with a clear focus on the department's most valued asset - its staff.Alongside contemporary HR functions, projects and strategies, People Division is also responsible for: enhancing the department's focus on safety enterprise bargaining cultural and change management the department's response to Australian Public Service (APS) reforms. Professional, Ethical Standards and Security Branch (PESS) deliver integrity and protective security services across the department.Professional and Ethical Standards (PES) are the expert advisors on ethical conduct and accountability and promote, educate and empower our people to adopt a pro-integrity culture through capability development, advice, and support.The Personnel, Information and Capability Security Programs deliver protective security assurance through delivery of personnel security, information security, and security capability policy, risk management, engagement and service delivery programs to uplift security culture, maturity, and resilience.PESS Branch is also responsible for oversight of the department's environmental risk profile and driving the adoption of low emission and sustainable practices across the department's operations, as well as responsibility for change management, advice, guidance, and assistance.The Personnel, Information and Capability Security Section: provides assurance in the eligibility and suitability of personnel to access government resources manages the department's information security policy, advice and engagement program to ensure official information assets are appropriately protected delivers the department's security training, communications and engagement programs to uplift security maturity, resilience and culture, including delivery of the department's countering espionage and foreign interference and insider threat management programs. The Personnel, Information and Capability Security Section is recruiting an EL1 Assistant Director to lead the Security Capability program.This is an exciting opportunity to lead an innovative security program that delivers significant security culture and maturity uplift across the department, with a focus on building resilience through intelligence-led security risk management.The key duties of the position include:Leading the department's counter espionage and foreign interference (EFI) program to raise awareness, manage risks and build resilience to EFI risks to our people, information and assets, including leading engagement with intelligence partners to translate the security threat environment to practical education and engagement products, threat briefings, policy design and risk management programs.Establishing a dedicated overseas travel program, aligned to the counter EFI program and bringing together a range of existing and new capabilities, including travel briefings, risk assessment and management, policy, training and engagement programs.Contributing to broader security capability programs that deliver security training, communication and engagement programs to uplift security maturity, resilience and culture.Contributing to broader protective security program governance, risk management and reporting.
