Job Description
Our Western Sydney based client is currently looking to recruit a Data Architect to join their team for an initial 12-month contract.
The primary responsibilities of this position are:
1. Developing database solutions to store and retrieve company information
2. Installing and configuring information systems to ensure functionality
3. Analysing structural requirements for new software and applications
4. Assist in identifying metrics for various areas of the business
5. Build a transformational roadmap with recommendations and a plan to achieve the desired objectives
6. Work with the Project Manager and others to provide clear deliverables (project charter, documentation, meetings inventory, assessment report, development proposal)
7. Drive improvements in processes to ensure consistent reporting and analysis across the enterprise in an environment where there is a variety of local systems and interpretations
8. Champion Data Governance and educate the Business units on the importance of consolidating any data silos or department solutions into one standardized offering
9. Work consultatively with business stakeholders and IT Business Analysts to ensure understanding of the business requirements associated with ongoing requests
10. Assist in the identification of additional professional service needs (and selection of same) for strategic advice, analytic solution selection and analytic solution development
11. Play a key role in the metadata management approach for the organization
12. Extract, synthesize and analyse data from various sources to assist in business decisions and translating data into actionable insights
13. Design specifications and standards for Data projects, across all environments
14. Provide support to the organization as needed
Requirements:
1. Bachelor degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Management or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience preferred
2. Thorough understanding of data and reporting technology platforms
3. Experience with Azure cloud platform, Databricks, Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Suite including advanced Excel skills
4. Proven ability to quickly diagnose business problems and translate high-level business questions into analysis roadmaps
5. Substantive experience with delivering data platform and business intelligence solutions
6. Critical thinking, strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills
7. Cloud Technology integration experience
8. Ability to work effectively with stakeholders
9. Hands-on experience with basic statistics techniques: Profiling, Correlation Analysis, Trend Analysis, Segmentation
10. Understanding of data integration tools and technologies, and exposure to same
11. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
12. Able to deal with ambiguity and make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
13. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at various peer and management levels
14. Able to work independently with minimum supervision
15. Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
16. Good analytical and problem-solving skills
