If you’re looking for your next exciting opportunity and want to be part of a successful gold mining operation, we want to hear from you!KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDEAn absolute commitment to working safely, complying with all site safety standards and ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace is essential.Undertake monitoring and sampling for Air, Surface water, Groundwater Soils, Sediments, potable water and wastewater.Basic assessments of results against standards.Participation and input into the ongoing development and implementation of the site’s Environmental Management System, including the development of Work Instructions and Procedures and assisting with Plans.Assist with reporting programs involving NGERS, NPI, weekly/monthly reporting, DES waste reporting and Permit Returns.Conducting training and awareness, work area inspections, contractor management and managing (and investigating) environmental incidents.Providing general environmental advice and assistance to the site operations.Coordinating and development of environmental projects.Inform site management on statutory environmental obligations.Assist EAC department and others as required.Learning and growing with our team, sharing your ideas and being part of creating innovative solutions to complex issues.ABOUT YOUStrong drive to excel independently and as part of a team to achieve positive environmental and safety outcomes.Tertiary qualification(s) in environmental science or closely related disciplines.Ability to interpret data accurately and solve problems effectively.Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems, Queensland environmental legislation, and report preparation.2+ years’ experience working on a mine site in an environmental role with similar responsibilities.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.Ability to undertake field activities in climatic conditions consistent with North Queensland.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Experience with Microsoft suite, GIS software and environmental databases.Must live within the Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers region, or surrounding areas (within - 200km of Ravenswood) or be willing to relocate to the area.AUSRIVAS accreditation.4WD driving experience.WHAT WE OFFERAn opportunity to work within a reputable mining organisation, with a long term future, and to be part of its growth and development.Permanent position with a reputable mining company with a mine life in excess of 10 years.A competitive remuneration package based on experience and skills.Working with a supportive high performance team with extensive industry, site knowledge and experience.DIDO on an 8/6 roster.Camp and Meals provided.Applications should include the following documentation in PDF format:Current Resume.Cover letter addressing suitability for the responsibilities and essential criteria as outlined above.All applicants will be subject to a current Police check and Pre-Employment Medical.Ravenswood Gold acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the Country on which we walk, live and work.
