Howard Smith Wharves is looking for a Casual Pastry Chef to join the Events team! As a key member of our kitchen team, you will assist in the creation of a wide range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods, working closely with our Chef de Partie to bring our dessert offerings to life.

Responsibilities include:
* Assist in the preparation of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring consistency and excellence in every item.
* Execute baking and cooking tasks for a variety of pastry items, including cakes, tarts, mousses, and other desserts.
* Prepare and organize ingredients for daily production, including measuring, mixing, and prepping components.
* Monitor and manage inventory levels for pastry ingredients, reporting shortages and assisting with stock rotation.
* Work closely with other members of the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
* Continuously develop your pastry skills by learning from senior chefs and participating in training.
What we’re looking for:
* Previous experience in a similar role in an events/functions setting or hotel setting is essential
* Previous experience as a pastry or dessert specialised commis chef is desired
* Undeniable pride for creating and delivering consistent, high quality produce
* Be a positive and collaborative team player
* Open to learning and ready for growth
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Trade Papers
