What We Are Looking ForThe Production Support Technician is responsible for supporting the transitions of designed systems, subsystems and components of military vehicles and equipment through the production process. They are to support the design, production and quality teams over the product lifecycle by investigating faults and providing proposals for solutions. Production Support technicians are to support the assurance of configuration of components, subsystems and systems allowing for the delivery of high quality delivered systems.The Production Support Technician is an integral part of Engineering Capability and will conduct work within cross functional project specific teams at various stages of the product lifecycle.The duties of the Production Support Technician include: Read and translate design documentation to support physical review of supplied items ensuring management of quality. Understand Designed military systems to support management and answering of technical queries form external suppliers Functional use of PDMi Teamcenter and SAP applications Support the Development of solutions within the as built requirements Support the preparation and conduct of design reviews of changed items through the production cycle. Support manufacture and verification of prototypes and incorporate test results as appropriate Investigate reported faults in the BOXERs mechanical sub-systems. In conjunction with manager; liaise, communicate and collaborate with stakeholders including Customers, Production, Field Service Reps and Design Engineers in order to investigate problems and develop solutions Prepare Test procedures for the conduct of investigations Conduct Tests, prepare and analyse test reports Propose solutions, and upgrades, and prepare scopes and requirements for development of engineering changes by others Participate in formal and\or informal design reviews Help develop Engineering Change Proposal (ECPs) and other engineering documentation for delivery to the Customer Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and report any concern(s) which may give rise to danger, and\or any injury which may occur in the workplace Any other duties as required What Qualifications You Should HaveRequired: Demonstrable experience in automotive\military vehicle engineering and related technologies (1-2 years); Qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in a related discipline to an associate level, or equivalent trade qualifications and experience (automotive mechanics, Fitter and turner, and other tradesmen highly regarded) ; 5+ years’ experience post qualification Must currently hold or be eligible to gain the appropriate Australian Security Clearance; Ability to travel interstate and/or internationally when required Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Good problem-solving skills, including the ability to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity; Ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent activities, while understanding and managing priorities, dependencies and risks; Strong levels of initiative, self-motivation and aptitude to learn; Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships Desirable: Previous Defence industry experience in supporting complex platforms\systems; Experience in using Vehicle telemetry and Health and Usage Monitoring (HUMS) systems.
