Our focus is always on the customer, and we take great pride in helping our customers realize their material handling goals.SummaryReporting to the Installer/Site Superintendent, this role will coordinate all site-construction activities and supervise all field personnel to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality of work practices while administering good construction safety. This person will schedule, coordinate, and supervise craft and subcontractor activities (may include trade groups such as laborers, millwrights, electricians, etc.) while working within specific construction disciplines (i.e. electrical, structural, mechanical). The ideal candidate has material handling system or manufacturing equipment implementation experience and has been in a managerial role that required them to be a hybrid of a leader, coach, and negotiator.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesManage all phases of the construction process including documenting and reporting site activities and progress.Support the estimating process by recommending the best method of construction, appropriate manpower levels, accurate material quantities of equipment, power sources, and estimated work schedule.Identify, plan, and maintain the job site from pre-mobilization activities in conjunction with the Project Manager, including vetting subcontractors and preparing the job site through pre-construction survey, job site utilization, and staging plans.Develop start-up schedule with the Project Manager and assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules in the field.Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to the original plans and specifications.Provide regular progress reports with “look ahead” schedules to the Project Manager, the field staff, and customer stakeholders.Prepare, order, and monitor materials for equipment, tools, labor, and consumables; expedite back-orders.Maintain a liaison with other departments (i.e., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately.Ensure that all subcontractors participate in safety training prior to starting work on the project.Ensure that inspections are approved, documented, and communicated to the project team, and non-conformances are resolved, entered, and tracked.Work with PM to identify and resolve personnel issues.Maintain customer service and provide fast dispute resolution.Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.Complete and implement construction checklists including contact & emergency phone lists.Review and approve time recording.Basic RequirementsBachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field or 5+ years of Site Supervisor experience.Experience working in the Material Handling Industry.4+ years of experience as an Installer/Superintendent/Site Manager with scheduling and project planning knowledge.Strong verbal and written communication skills (able to speak effectively to large groups or customers or employees within the organization).Ability to use a voltmeter.The ability to troubleshoot on an installation site.Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project.Flexibility to work in Union/Open-shop projects.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Must have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Flexibility to work extended work schedules as required to support the project execution plans and schedules, including weekends at specific stages of the project.Experience supervising Trades personnel who are company employees or contractors.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Strong problem-solving skills; able to deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and write routine reports.Self-motivated; strong work ethic and drive for success.Travel up to 70%+ of the time (less when assigned to a specific project’s location).Regularly work in material handling environments and at times in an office setting including standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel objects, or controls; and reaching with hands and arms.At times stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Occasionally sit and climb or balance and use hand tools.Lift/Move up to 50lbs.Preferred QualificationsPreferred 5-7 years of Material Handling Systems or related Construction experience as a Superintendent within similar industry facilities such as UPS, FXG, parcel, warehouse, eCommerce.Bi-lingual (Spanish).Equal Opportunity Employer
