What You'll Be Doing
As the Learning and Capability Development Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and delivering end-to-end learning programs that align with our organisational strategy.
You Will
1. Consult and advise stakeholders to identify and manage learning needs.
2. Conduct learning needs analysis and design learning solutions using contemporary methodologies (eLearning, virtual classroom, digital learning, facilitator led).
3. Work with key stakeholders to create learning materials, tools, and resources to complement all facets of the employee lifecycle, including induction and onboarding programs, reviewing Individual Development Plans and facilitation of internal workshops and programs.
4. Coordinate and facilitate focus groups, pilots and participate in project working groups, by communicating progress, issues, and risks, and contributing to business case creation.
5. Co-design, manage, and improve key learning infrastructure, including learning management, performance management, content management system(s), learning governance, service standards, evaluation methods and reporting.
6. Respond to business queries and requests.
7. Build and foster relationships with industry bodies, government, and Registered Training Organisations to understand accessibility and eligibility for funding and best practice content requirements.
8. Responsible for the Learning Management System (LMS, and associated content management systems).
9. Coordinate learning events and manage vendors, including licensing, issuing purchase orders and invoicing.
10. Generate learning reports and insights to aid decision making.
This role is internally known as Capability Development Specialist. The title has been changed for advertising purposes only.
This is a permanent role based in Newcastle.

What You'll Bring
To be successful in the role of Learning and Capability Development Specialist, you will have previous experience in a similar role with expertise in end-to-end instructional design and eLearning development. You will be a self-starter, who can self-regulate, and proactively communicate and raise critical information or concerns.
Your Background Will Demonstrate Your
1. Expertise in administering a front and back-end Learning Management System(s) (ELMO preferred).
2. Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, including Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SharePoint (essential) and associated applications such as Confluence, JIRA, and Tableau (preferred).
3. Expertise in learning design tools and effective SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) file management (essential), using Articulate 360, Vyond, ClipChamp, Canva (preferred).
4. Ability to facilitate virtual meetings and classrooms using Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
5. Strong stakeholder management skills supporting a consultative decision-making process.
6. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic working environment.
7. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate requirements into practical and engaging learning designs.
8. Project management skills, prioritising and managing multiple complex tasks concurrently, whilst meeting deadlines.
9. Capability to work with third-party vendors for program creation.
10. Generalist HR Knowledge including inputs and outputs of the employee lifecycle.
Qualifications
1. Certificate IV Training and Assessment or working towards (essential).
2. Kirkpatrick Evaluation Certification (highly desirable).
