About the Team & the Position
As the nation's energy market operator, we take our cyber security responsibilities very seriously. AEMO is a recognised leader and exemplar of effective cyber security within the energy sector domestically and internationally.
As the Senior Analyst for Energy Market Cyber Coordination, you will support the development and execution of a program of work to enable AEMO to effectively discharge its responsibilities in:
* Coordinating with Commonwealth and State government authorities and energy market participants on effective response to cyber security incidents
* Enhancing the frameworks used to inform cyber security maturity uplift across grids and markets.
* Coordinating cyber security research activities on emerging issues affecting energy grids and markets
* Promoting a shared understanding of the cyber threat environment
Position Responsibilities
* Maintain contacts and engage with stakeholders across government, industry, and academia.
* Identify and review AEMO cyber security standards applying to market participants.
* Support review and refinement of sector specific cyber maturity frameworks and reporting on security preparedness of the sector.
* Support the scoping, management and delivery of research projects investigating emerging security issues affecting grids and markets. Assist in the development of supporting materials and presentations. Coordinate internal and contracted resources to deliver objectives.
* Support stakeholder communication strategy including management of complex stakeholder matrix. Assist ongoing active engagement with stakeholders across government, industry and academia.
* Development of reporting and presentational materials supporting concise communication of stakeholder engagement, research and project delivery and other duties as required
Position Requirements
Skills & Experience:
* Strong experience in energy critical infrastructure and cyber security (preferred).
* Expertise in MS Project, Visio, PowerPoint & Power BI
* Knowledge of energy market regulations, security of supply, and critical infrastructure protections.
* Knowledge of threat assessment, incident response, and risk mitigation strategies.
* Good understanding of security control and maturity frameworks and critical infrastructure regulatory relevant to the energy sector, for example NIST CSF, AESCSF and SOCI
* Knowledge of jurisdictional structures and arrangements with respect to the management of energy and cyber security
* Strong communication skills in Building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, for example market participants, state, and federal government, to support collaborative efforts to reduce energy cyber risk.
* Contemporary knowledge of adversary tradecraft.
* Procurement, program, and project management skills; financial/budget management, scheduling, and resource management.
* Ability to travel interstate and work flexible hours.
Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.
Education/ professional Certifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in computer science, technology-related, energy field or equivalent experience
* Applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to get NV1 or NV2 security clearance.
