You will play a key role in maintaining high standards in quality assurance, risk management, and laboratory best practices, enabling researchers to achieve scientific excellence. Key responsibilities will include: Oversee the day-to-day management of laboratory activities, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-performing research environment while maintaining compliance with OH&S, OGTR, and chemical safety regulations. Lead the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 and GLP accreditation, ensuring adherence to best practices in quality management and laboratory standards. Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and efficient use of laboratory equipment, assets, and consumables to support seamless research operations. Facilitate onboarding, training, and ongoing development of staff and students, ensuring best practices in laboratory operations and fostering a collaborative research culture. Experience in laboratory management and quality systems within a research facility, particularly in recombinant protein bioproduction. Strong knowledge of laboratory safety policies, including OH&S, biohazard, and chemical safety, with experience in compliance and risk management. Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain ISO 9001 and GLP accreditation, including conducting internal and external audits. Excellent problem-solving and project management skills, with the ability to develop, implement, and monitor laboratory processes and workflows. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with team members, facility users, and stakeholders across academia, industry, and government. The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia and a criminal check.
