Your Opportunity
We are looking to expand our archaeology team and are seeking a full time Archaeologist to lead field programs. Work will focus on projects across various service lines in the Yukon, with opportunities to contribute to projects in British Columbia.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Lead cultural resource management assessments
* Prepare technical reports
* Actively participate in Stantec’s HSSE programs
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Experience leading field-based cultural resource management assessments, including supervising staff
* Experience identifying traditional use sites and features, CMTs and precontact and historical artifacts
* Ability to hold a Class 2 Yukon Archaeological Site Regulation permit, or possess the required experience to become a permit holder in the near future
* Dedicated to following and promoting a strong safety culture
* Desire to work closely with other environmental professionals and First Nations
* Excellent technical writing skills and experience in cultural resource management, including the preparation of regulatory deliverables
* Self-motivated and ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation
* Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Yukon), or equivalent
Education and Experience
* A Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required. A Master’s degree is an asset.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Cultural Resource Management. Experience in the Yukon is an asset.
* Experience working in remote locations is an asset.
