Every Patient Matters.Job DescriptionWe currently have casual Grade 2 positions available at Epworth Geelong, based in Waurn Ponds.This casual role offers the opportunity to assess, manage and provide client-centred intervention to inpatients and outpatients experiencing swallowing, communication and cognitive impairments following an acquired brain injury.You will make an impact with your:Strong knowledge within the assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders and how these can have a direct impact on a patient’s overall health and quality of life.Ability to provide evidence-based, patient-centred care.Ability to work collaboratively and confidently within the multidisciplinary team.Strong time-management and prioritisation skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.To be successful in the role, you will:Have experience working in the acute and sub-acute settings, across a variety of caseloads (e.g., stroke, progressive neurological conditions, head & neck oncology, respiratory and general medical).Be competent (or working towards) administering and interpreting video fluoroscopy studies and/or Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of the swallow.Show evidence of your commitment to your ongoing learning and skill development.Show accountability and compassion in the workplace.Show evidence of your involvement in supporting students and peers (Grade 2 roles only).Epworth Geelong, located adjacent to Deakin University’s Medical School in Waurn Ponds, is developing an environment of world-class health care and education to meet the needs of the expanding population of Geelong and South West Victoria.
