Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital You will the maintain electrical services and equipment in a safe working order and to attend to emergency breakdowns on the property owned by St John of God Subiaco Hospital.The Position Carry out repairs and maintenance to the electrical distribution and communication systems, switchboards, final sub circuits, outlets, lighting, motors and associated control gear.This includes all departments within the Hospital owned and operated buildings, which includes such diverse activities as catering and operating suites.Determine and implement corrective action of above as required.Carry out safety checks on Hospital electrical appliances and hand tools.Raise purchase requisitions for all parts and repairs required.Assist in the repair of other services as required.Provide technical information and advice as required.Be on call on a rotating basis.When on call, investigate all reported faults received by the Duty Nurse Manager or their representative.When on call, attend site as soon as possible and make safe or rectify all faults on any service including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, mechanical and building services or equipment.Faults that cannot be repaired or safely isolated without disruption to the Hospital's operation must be escalated to the appropriate trade caregiver or contractor.When on call, on weekends and public holidays, attend to any urgent jobs for a minimum of three hours and carry out safety checks on the steam boilers as per check sheet.When on call, enter into the Communication Book work done and log the outstanding or problem items that need attention the following working day.Attend to all fire alarms and faults.Complete the daily log report in logbook for the cogeneration plant.Interact and respond to requests for assistance with a courteous and professional approach, and assist where possible or refer the enquirer to the appropriate caregiver.All other reasonable duties as directed by Manager/Supervisor.You will hold a current Electrician's A Grade Licence and Certification of Registration.You will have experience in the electrical maintenance of industry and buildings and be able to operate tools of the trade.To succeed you must be capable of walking considerable distances during the working day and assist in lifting of equipment.You will have the ability to work some overtime and share call backs when necessary to attend breakdowns or maintenance.A 'C' class driver's license and access to a vehicle is essential.Above all, people will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.We can offer you Salary: $74,055 to $90,358 plus 11.5% superannuation Permanent full time position Salary packaging up to $18,550 on a range of benefits such as mortgage, rent, meal entertainment, holiday accommodation or other everyday living expenses as well as options to salary package benefits above the FBT cap on items such as: Novated leasing work related expenses self-education and additional superannuation A healthy work-life balance through flexible work options, additional purchased leave and well-being programs Employee discount on St John of God Hospital & Medical Services and Private Health Insurance Employee support through our dedicated free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Green travel allowance – if you walk, car pool or use public transport you could be eligible for up to $1,500 per year Access to fitness and wellbeing benefits through Fitness Passport For enquiries contact Darren Jones, Director Corporate Services on 0402 975 193 Applications close 9th December 2024 St John of God Health Care embraces diversity and strongly encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people with disabilities.We are committed to providing a safe environment for all children and vulnerable people in our care and proactively take measures to protect children/vulnerable people from abuse.
