Flight Centre Travel Group’s Independent Travel Division is seeking a Management Accountant to help drive our reporting, close & audit requirements. This is a new role and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to work efficiently and effectively, across a number of stakeholders to create improved ways of working, providing valuable insights, whilst protecting and enabling our business to grow significantly. A proactive hands-on approach, comfortable with a high rate of change is required to succeed in this role.
This is a new role within the AU Envoyage Finance Team of 13 and will work with one other management accountant. Initially the role will focus on 3 key deliverables:
1. Cross train on all tasks currently delivered by the management accountant team
2. Bring together a number of processes, currently performed by our Finance Business Partners.
3. Drive improvements in our Revenue and Member Distribution processes, working with Envoyage Product and Supply to deliver these.
Day to day, the role will include controllership related activities, from balance sheet reconciliations, month end close procedures, invoicing, GL postings, reconciliations and more. The MA, will also be required to provide commentary on results as well as analyse large set of data to distil business critical insights.
Primary Accountabilities & Objectives:
* Month-end accounting including reconciliations, journal posting and invoicing
* Prepare and analyse monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Prepare and analyse weekly cashflow forecasts
* Prepare and analyse monthly management reports, tracking financial and non-financial performance against agreed KPI’s, budgets and forecasts as well as trends
* Variance analysis and provide commentary around actual results compared to budget and forecasts
* Assist the business in budgeting and forecasting
* Develop and Maintain Standard Operating Procedures
* Continuous process improvement to ensure the team remains in line with best practices
* Ability to understand, review and improve monthly processes
* Support the annual audit, including creation of workpapers
* Actively create and improve existing reporting, systems and processes
* Work with Management Accounting and Transactional Finance Teams to ensure all group reporting deadlines are understood and met
* Work collaboratively and cross functionally as required
Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a commercial environment
- Business Central experience (beneficial but not essential);
- High level of expertise in Microsoft Excel.
- CPA/CA qualified
- Tertiary level education in Accounting or similar
