Longtrail Farms is currently seeking an experienced Mobile Plant Operator to join our team located in Parilla, Southern Mallee on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Cropping or Potato Manager, you will operate mobile plant to clear and cultivate land, sow and harvest crops, fell trees, move and excavate rock and soil, move pallets and containers, and lay roads. Key Responsibilities include: Driving plant to worksite. Driving and manoeuvring plant on site. Selecting and fitting attachments to plant. Manipulating controls to operate attachments mechanically, hydraulically and electrically, and to move materials. Monitoring operation of plant directly and by referring to instruments. Monitoring condition of plant, performing minor repairs and reporting mechanical faults. Skills and Experience: AQF Certificate II or III, or at least one year of relevant experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 4). Previous experience using harvesting equipment and large machinery (experience using a Dewulf potato harvester desirable). Can conduct general maintenance using problem-solving skills. · Previous exposure to machinery systems including GPS Software. · HC/MC license, Forklift license, Telehandler license and First Aid certificate is an advantage but not essential. This includes: o Working diligently and with purpose; o Appropriately directing junior members of staff to increase productivity; and o Working unsupervised when required. · Communication: Maintain open communication with all staff and participate in all staff meetings. · Record keeping: Maintain accurate and timely recording of all activities in your area of the business. · Safety: The business aims to drive a safety-first culture and ensure that all staff and contractors are adhering to the policies set by the business. It is a requirement of all staff to set the standard and drive this culture. · Presentation: Improve the presentation of the overall business. Individually everyone needs to ensure their vehicle, machinery, equipment and yard, at a minimum, are neatly presented. Ideally, all staff can be anywhere around the farm or business and feel a sense of pride for their workplace. Great things about Longtrail Work vehicle and provision for a phone are provided.
