General Scope and Purpose
To be totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly, and effective approach. To ensure that all items of crockery, cutlery, kitchen surfaces, and service equipment are kept clean and maintained in a hygienic condition, ready for use. To assist Kitchen and Food Service Team Members as required in order to ensure that our guests receive the highest standards of service.
Responsibilities
1. To ensure that all cutlery, crockery, pots, and equipment are cleaned to the standard required.
2. To ensure that all equipment, cutlery, crockery, pots, and glassware are stored safely and allocated to correct areas, ensuring that any breakages are reported.
3. To keep the kitchen and all related areas clean and tidy.
4. To ensure cleaning procedures are followed for the cleaning of equipment with chemicals and follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
5. To ensure that any faults or damage to equipment are reported to a Senior Chef or Head Kitchen Steward.
6. To maintain high standards of working practices and working methods.
7. To ensure all equipment is operated according to manufacturers’ safety instructions.
8. To deal with food deliveries if requested by Senior Chef.
9. To report any damage, wear, and tear arising in any of your working areas.
10. To attend work consistently well-groomed, in uniform, as laid down to the standard required.
11. To be fully aware of and strictly adhere to all security, cash, and key procedures laid down.
12. To consistently deliver superior customer service.
13. To attend training when required.
14. To be fully aware of and adhere to Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Fire, and Bomb threat procedures as laid down by the hotel and Company.
15. To suggest ideas for further improving the department and customer service standards.
16. To be fully aware of and comply with hotel and Company rules and regulations as identified in the Team Member handbook, in our policies and procedures, and displayed on notice boards.
This Job Description cannot be exhaustive due to the peculiar requirements of the hotel industry. Therefore, the job-holder may be required from time to time to carry out tasks requested by the Management.
Job Type: Zero hours contract
Pay: Up to £11.44 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
