Position details Award/Classification: Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022, Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1-11 Employment type: Part Time Region: South Location: Royal Hobart Hospital Job description: The Royal Hobart Hospital and Department of Medical Oncology is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Staff Specialist – Medical Oncology vacancy. This position will be attractive to a highly skilled and motivated medical professional who views challenges as opportunities and is driven by a passion to improve healthcare in the complex world of modern health systems. The right applicant/s will play a key role in developing health care at both patient and system levels. The Role Provide a senior role in Medical Oncology and related services at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH). Provide inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients of RHH in all aspects of Medical Oncology, including the RHH Medical Oncology outpatient clinic. Increase the RHH clinical services in Medical Oncology as required by the Head of Department. Be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and to be actively involved in research. Undertake quality improvement activities. Essential Requirements Holds specialist registration; or Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who is on the specialist pathway; or Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the speciality.
