About the Role
The Assistant Development Manager will support the Senior Development Manager in overseeing property development projects from concept to completion.
This role requires expertise in construction management, property development, or project management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
* Assist in managing multiple property development projects simultaneously.
* C coordinate project timelines, budgets, and resources to align with the overall development strategy.
* Develop and track detailed project schedules to meet milestones.
* O oversee daily construction activities to ensure progress according to schedule and budget.
* C collaborate with external project managers, contractors, architects, and engineers to address issues during construction.
* A conduct site inspections and review construction reports to ensure work is progressing as planned.
* M manage project budgets, monitor costs, and prepare cost forecasts.
* E identify potential cost savings and efficiencies to ensure projects are completed within budget.
* A participate in procurement and tender processes, reviewing costs and value engineering options.
* A communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
* O organize and attend project meetings to ensure alignment on goals and objectives.
* M maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and progress reports.
To Be Successful You Will Have
* Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Real Estate Development, Project Management, or a related field.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in construction management, property development, or project management, with a solid understanding of the property development lifecycle.
* Preferrable experience in managing or supporting construction projects (residential, commercial, or mixed-use).
* P proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project and Argus EstateMaster).
* Familiarity with construction scheduling, budgeting, and cost management.
* Knowledge of construction processes and techniques.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* E excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* A ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* S strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* A ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* R driven by results, focusing on cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
