The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint a Buyer.Key responsibilitiesAs a Buyer you will be responsible for the sourcing of various procurement site requirements/packages.Ensure that all procurement processes adhere to group policies and procedures, meet project requirements.Process all the assigned requisitions.Preparation of bid evaluations, negotiating with supplier purchase order and formalizing agreements.Complies with Webuild Group policies and procedures as amended from time to time.Supporting the Category Manager to define the strategy.Define the Vendor List, preparing the request for proposal to send to suppliers, and managing commercial and contractual negotiation activities with the identified Vendors.Perform assessment of Offers, ensuring they are technically checked by requesting Departments/Operational Units.Operate in full compliance with the Project procedures.Manage supplier relations, in compliance with the Company's Code of Ethics, its Organization, Management and Control Model and its Anti-Corruption Model.Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.Target-oriented approach.Ensure the successful delivery of the Project within the required constraints for time, cost, quality, safety, environment, and the community.Conduct market survey, compare the technical and economical assets, deal with the applicants and suppliers to find the best technical and economical proposal to purchasing.Review planned expenditure against budget and obtain approval for all procurements.Build and maintain positive relationships with Suppliers.Manage relationships and conditions with Suppliers.Work with Department Heads to identify timelines required in the procurement of goods and services.Expedite deliveries with suppliers as required.Ensure deliverables are achieved in line with Project deadlines.Ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time.Undertake works in a manner that is consistent with the overall Project goals and meets the timeframes specified in the Project schedule.Minimum QualificationsRelevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.Specialist Degree in Engineering.Minimum ExperienceMinimum 3 to 5 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role.Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects with sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.Knowledge and experience with contemporary procurement systems, preferably ERP, SAP Ariba.Proven planning, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues with moderate complexity and guide others in the resolution of problems.Sound understanding of the NSW Government Procurement Guidelines.Job-Specific SkillsAbility to manage personal stress.Sound interpersonal skills.Language: fluent English mandatory; an additional language constitutes an advantage.Good negotiation abilities.A strong commitment to a team-based environment.Experience in Microsoft Office and SAP.Strong collaborative skills.Strong problem-solving ability.Well-developed time management skills.Strong teaching and coaching skills.Solid technical writing and communication skills.Flexibility and mobility.Process oriented.Ability to work collaboratively.Pay attention to detail.How to Apply:Please submit your most recent resume.Please note: Due to the high number of applications received, only those successful will be contacted.
