MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations related to facility management, including maintenance activities, repairs, security protocols, and environmental health and safety standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to procure resources and services for facility maintenance and improvement projects, managing contracts to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Assess space requirements and usage patterns to optimize the layout and utilization of facilities, developing strategies to maximize space efficiency while accommodating the needs of occupants.
Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans in collaboration with our People & Safety Manager, including evacuation procedures and disaster recovery strategies, and conduct regular training to ensure readiness.
Oversee minor packaging operations, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Assist in the supervision of packaging staff during peak times or in the absence of the Packaging Manager, ensuring smooth operation and compliance with standard operating procedures
SKILLS & Experience:
• Strong background in managing facilities, including knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with facility management software and tools is essential.
• Leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team, effectively managing both facility and limited packaging operations.
• High mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills, capable of addressing facility-related challenges and supporting minor packaging tasks as needed.
• A forklift license is desirable.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage occasional packaging duties alongside primary facilities management responsibilities.
• 3 years of relevant experience in facilities management within a beverage manufacturing environment.
Workplace health and safety
● Assist in the implementation of the company's workplace health and safety policy and procedures and security systems and procedures.
● Follow the workplace health and safety policy and safe work practices.
● Report any hazards, incidents, injuries, or 'near misses' to your HR as soon as possible after the event.
● Address any hazards and incidents reported in conjunction with HR. Reviewed February 2024
● Ensure adherence to safe work procedures through effective consultation and documented training.
● Ensure that injured workers are managed well and communicated with on a regular basis.
● Carry out informal inspections of your work area regularly and assist with formal inspections or audits as required.
● Participate in consultation and training on safety and security issues in your work area
