Role Overview
The Merchandise Assistant plays a key role in implementing and supporting strategies to enable Outback Stores to sell a range of products that delivers on sales and profit targets.
* MERCHANDISING RESPONSIBILITIES
* Effectively manage the in-store promotions calendar.
* Conduct category reviews and implement agreed changes.
* Conduct store audits to ensure the core range is available at all stores.
* Assist in generating and analysing weekly data scrutinising unsatisfactory sales and profit against product and location.
* Ensure category price integrity and validate against competition.
* In conjunction with the Assistant Merchandise Manager, oversee the cost/sell item maintenance within Smart Retail and Group controller/HQ.
* Generate and analyse weekly and monthly sales and profit reports, proactively driving outcomes.
* Assist in evaluating market and store information together with historical data and forward trends to develop the department's plans.
* Assist with developing procedures and reporting to ensure price integrity at Store Level.
* Develop and maintain key supplier accounts.
* Maintain healthy communications with stores and internal stakeholders throughout Outback Stores.
* Carry out duties in accordance with Outback Store's safety, environmental, and quality policy, safety principles, corporate values, Code of Conduct, and strategic goals.
* Perform ad hoc administrative duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
* Certificate III in Retail.
* Hold (or able to obtain) Working with Children Check and National Police Certificate.
* Current unrestricted driver's licence.
Expertise
* Two years plus administration or retail experience.
* Proven experience in retail.
* Ability to analyse data.
* Intermediate experience in Microsoft suite.
* Experience in Grocery Manager POS advantageous but not essential.
