This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.
Join the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) as a temporary part-time Registered Nurse in the Chest Clinic, providing exceptional care to the community until 3 February 2026. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced nurse to contribute to the management of patients with respiratory conditions, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive health outcomes. The Chest Clinic Registered Nurse will work closely with the Respiratory / TB Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to provide clinic support for the TB population on the Central Coast.
As a Registered Nurse in the Chest Clinic, you will provide direct care to patients with respiratory conditions, performing nursing interventions in alignment with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia's standards of practice. Your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care to ensure the best possible health outcomes for patients with conditions such as asthma, COPD, and other respiratory disorders. You will also be responsible for supervising and mentoring other nursing staff, such as Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs), to ensure that quality care is provided throughout the clinic. Additionally, you will maintain accurate and timely patient records, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
About You
You have a current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Recent respiratory experience would be desirable. You have strong clinical and interpersonal skills. You have excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise your workload. Where You'll Be Working
