Your Impact
Working as part of a broader administrative team, you will provide high-level professional and administrative support to the AEU Federal Professional Officers to effectively achieve the strategic objectives of the union. Specifically, you will:
* Assist with diary management, travel coordination, and preparation of correspondence.
* Assist in the coordination of events (e.g., seminars and conferences) including logistics, arranging venues, catering, guest speakers, and AV.
* Coordinate meetings and conferences including preparing agendas, papers, and minute taking.
* Liaise with AEU branches, government, and representatives from other regulatory bodies or unions in support of the work of the AEU.
* Ad-hoc duties as required such as reception coverage.
What you bring
You are a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a team environment but can equally be self-directed in their role. Ideally, you have experience in a similar role within a political, education, union, or non-profit organisation. You will have:
* Impeccable organisational skills: ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities whilst keeping calm under pressure.
* Exceptional oral and written communication skills including drafting and formatting documents with excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
* Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder relationship building skills.
* Medium to advanced skills using Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Zoom.
* A working knowledge of audio-visual/video-conferencing systems.
* A commitment to unionism and public education.
