Multiple Opportunities Available, SCHAD Level 2 Skylight Programs deliver a range of recovery-oriented community mental health services by working alongside people experiencing mental illness, family and friends who care for them, and the broader general South Australian community. Covering locations in the Murray Mallee region, Skylight is looking to recruit Support Workers who are capable of providing individualised support to participants. Shifts are across various times during the day and can include weekends and public holidays. We do not provide overnight supports. There are also opportunities to provide support to participants within a group setting by facilitating activity groups within Skylight centres if this is something you have relevant skills and experience / an interest in. As a Support Worker at Skylight you will be supporting NDIS participants to work towards achieving their goals and support with daily living tasks while building their capacity and independence. This may look like supporting a participant to appointments, group activities, social outings, food shopping, medication pickups etc. We do this by working within recovery oriented, trauma informed and person-centred practices & provide support with the barriers experienced in their psychosocial wellbeing. We do not provide personal care. We require Support Workers with the skills and experience working with participants who have complex needs and some participants who require a 2:1 support ratio. Skylight Support Workers make a real difference to the lives of people experiencing mental illness, building from these key areas: Engagement - Do you engage easily with others? Empathy - Is it natural for you to express empathy? Recovery - Do you understand what recovery from mental illness means? Relationships - Is building relationships easy for you? Motivation – Can you help people discover their own motivation? Emotional Intelligence - Is emotional intelligence important to you?
