This would include consultation, assessment, and treatment of clients of Sexual Health Services in the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS).Fixed Term Temporary part-time, 38 hours p.f.
up to 04/08/2025 with possible extension of additional 12 months.The Sexual Health Service in Townsville provides comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care including management of sexually transmissible infections and blood-borne viruses, non-forensic sexual assault, transgender care and clinical management, sexual dysfunction, and genital dermatological conditions as well as education services for health professionals.What's on Offer?
(Remuneration)Generous remuneration package value up to $5523.00 p.m. comprising:Salary range of $39.86 to $58.59 p.h.
(HP3)Annual leave with 17.5% loading12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.Other employment benefits may include: professional development, shift and locality allowances, employee wellness and assistance programs, and access to corporate discounts.The Ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:Demonstrate motivation to work in the sexual health specialty and with our core client groups: men who have sex with men, sex workers, young people, those considering or who identify as transgender, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, women accessing termination of unwanted pregnancy, drug users and people living with blood borne viruses.Experience in working with persons experiencing distress related to Sexual Health issues would be desirable but not essential.Demonstrated best practice clinical, health, and/or developmental psychology knowledge, expertise and skill.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, medical and nursing team, and other key stakeholders.Effective communication skills, including the ability to engage patients across the lifespan, interdisciplinary teams, and other internal and external stakeholders.Requirements:Applicants must possess an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four-year qualification in Psychology, and be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Psychology Board of Australia (PsychBA).While not mandatory, a PsychBA Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology would be highly regarded.This position requires possession of a C class driver licence.This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.Probation period may apply.Pre-employment checks will be conducted.For additional information regarding the responsibilities and/or other requirements for this position please refer to the role description.Why make the change?Townsville University Hospital is a great place to work and Townsville itself is a great place to live - with the natural wonders of Magnetic Island a short boat ride away and Townsville being one of the main gateways to the Great Barrier Reef.Townsville offers great cafe culture at the strand with plenty of great walking tracks around the region.
