About the role
The Production Estimator reports to the Production Estimating Manager. The key focus of this role is to accurately determine and calculate quantities required from contract documentation and working drawings. This includes analysing project specifications, cost estimating, creating budgets, collaborating with the team, risk assessment, reporting through appropriate channels and focusing on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities for the role
* Ensure the efficient and accurate production of building estimates
* Check contract plans for accuracy prior to release for construction
* Ensure company agreed turnaround timeframes and margin structures are adhered to.
* Complete quantity take-offs for building materials and labour
* Issue and maintain purchase orders in accordance with the current Purchasing / Supplier agreements and methods of measurement
* Complete subcontractor and credit invoices
* Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
* Contribute to final checking team members work and providing appropriate feedback.
* Perform other associated administrative duties
Skills & experience
* A minimum of 2 years estimating experience in a similar role and industry
* Excellent numeracy skills
* Understanding of Building Code of Australia
* Exceptional computer skills with a medium to advanced knowledge of Excel
* Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and strive to reach targets
* Demonstrate an innovative approach to solving problems
* Experience in Business Craft, and/or Companion systems would be advantageous but is not essential
