Our Vision is for a community that works together to advance community life.About the Role Position Objectives: Working as part of our Operations and Waste team, this position undertakes allocated administrative, technical and operational activities relating to proactive and routine asset inspections in an efficient and effective manner, including meeting customers' expectations.
Key Responsibilities and duties:• Undertake proactive and routine asset Inspections and management of works as directed• Prepare reports, correspondence and investigate any issues• Engage, supervise and audit contractors undertaking works on behalf of Council • Attend to routine customer requests and enquiries and provide timely and accurate information in accordance with Council policy• Prepare risk management reports (SIR) • Assist in analysing existing data and preparing a list for the capital works program.• Assist in preparing an operational and maintenance plan for roads, footpaths, shared path, kerbs, and channels and other Council assets as required.• Conduct asset information audits, including data in asset systems and GIS, and update as necessary.
• Supervise the student engineers and volunteers in delivering Road Management Plan (RMP) inspectionSkills & Experience• Diploma or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or extensive experience in Civil Works Construction and Maintenance• Knowledge of the Road Management Plan inspections, work management process and compliance• Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office products and corporate systems• Current Victorian Driver's LicenceCultureAs a progressive leader in Local Government, Darebin City Council is passionate about social inclusion, sustainability, engagement and service excellence.
