The role
The Modernisation Salesperson plays a pivotal role in driving sales and delivering innovative, energy-efficient solutions that transform buildings into more sustainable spaces. Reporting to the After Market Sales Leader, this dynamic position involves actively engaging with prospects, leveraging expertise in HVAC, Controls, and Digital systems to identify opportunities, provide tailored solutions, and close deals. Success in this role means expanding the customer base, exceeding regional sales targets, and ensuring exceptional service. Collaboration is key—working closely with Aftermarket Sellers (Service Agreements, Repairs, and National Lifecycle Solutions), as well as Commercial, Controls, Mechanical Engineering, and Project Management teams to seamlessly deliver solutions.
Key responsibilities
* Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with your colleagues and maintain open communication with key stakeholders, including the Modernisation Manager, Aftermarket General Managers, Operations Manager to ensure strategic alignment and meet business objectives.
* Regional Planning: With your manager, develop a regional sales plan for modernization to offer tailored lifecycle solutions to the right customer and market segments.
* Modernization Projects: Target high-margin, energy-efficient projects to enhance system performance and deliver long-term value to the customer.
* Sales Targets: Strive to overdrive your Sales Targets through Modernisation Projects.
* Strategic Negotiation: Conduct negotiations to safeguard company interests and achieve beneficial outcomes.
* Innovation: Utilize knowledge of HVAC, Controls and Digital systems to provide solution-based offerings to customers that differentiate Carrier from our competitors. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
* Sales Excellence: Utilize CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales platforms for accurate performance tracking, pipeline management, and reporting. Prepare competitive quotations and proposals to secure new deals. Provide regular reports and updates to management on sales progress and achievements.
* Customer Centricity: Advise and guide on the appropriate Energy and Sustainability solutions to meet customer needs. Present technical information and conduct product demonstrations effectively to potential customers. Focus on educating customers on energy efficiency and decarbonization initiatives. Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and preferences. Provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the sales process and after-sales service. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
* Training and Development: Keep up with the Carrier Essential training on Ethics, Culture, People and Continuous Improvement.
Requirements:
As a minimum you must have:
* 5+ years’ experience within a Solution Selling environment.
* Knowledge of Energy and Sustainability.
* Strong client problem-solving skills.
* Large project sales ideally within the Buildings Market.
* Knowledge of HVAC Systems and DDC and Digital control systems and their functions.
* Financial management for quoting and estimation purposes.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines and budgets.
* Ability to work within a team and autonomously.
* Results-oriented and attention to detail.
