Rail Infrastructure Technical Specialist (2IC) - 12 months
The iconic West Coast Wilderness Railway is looking for a “hands-on” Rail Infrastructure Specialist to work across both field-based and administrative functions.
Our narrow-gauge heritage railway spans a distance of 35km and runs through remote, cool temperate rainforest between Queenstown and Strahan on Tasmania’s West Coast.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Contribute to the development and review of asset plans, training and procedures to align with business and regulatory requirements
* Provide technical and engineering support
* Support the management of internal and external rail-related audits
* Carry out inspections of rail infrastructure identifying risks and mitigation
* Direct and support external contractors
* Contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of a safe, reliable and enjoyable experience for guests.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships and work productively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Highly developed analytical skills and experience delivering practical solutions to risk and compliance management.
* Proven experience in delivery of rail infrastructure maintenance, upgrades and renewals.
* Previous experience preparing clear and concise reports, plans and briefings of technical and non-technical materials suitable for a diverse audience.
* Category 2 Rail Safety Worker Health Assessment (ability to obtain) and sufficient fitness to satisfy the physical and outdoor requirements of the role.
* Competence in the use of computer systems, database and common software applications.
* Valid driver's license.
