We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hotel and Motel Manager to oversee our operations in Barcaldine, a remote location in Queensland. Reporting to: The position reports to State Manager Queensland and Tasmania Qualifications and requirements: Relevant qualification at the level of a Diploma of Hospitality Management or higher, OR at least 3 years of relevant work experience Must hold an Approved Manager of Licensed Venue (AMLV) for Liquor Licensing purposes Must hold a 2024 Food Supervisors certificate to meet current food handling legislation Must have good English for face to face and telephone interactions with clients Key Responsibilities: Manage daily operations of the hotel/motel, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage services. Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction by upholding excellent service standards. Recruit, train, and manage staff, ensuring the team performs efficiently and cohesively. Develop and implement strategies to increase occupancy and revenue, particularly in a remote setting. Address guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations. Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, reporting, and ensuring profitability. Coordinate the upkeep of the property, ensuring that it is well-maintained and inviting for guests. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Hotel or Motel Manager, preferably in a remote or regional area. Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and manage a small team. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on exceeding guest expectations. Sound financial acumen with experience in managing budgets and financial performance. Ability to work under pressure and handle high-stress situations calmly. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences. A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
