Sunrise Health Service (Sunrise) are looking for experienced General Practitioners to join their dedicated teams across their remote clinics, with fulltime or FIFO opportunities available.

Sunrise has been operating since 2003 and is the second largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation in the Northern Territory. Sunrise services 9 remote communities to the east of Katherine and serves a population base of approximately 3,800 people – many with chronic illnesses requiring early detection and amelioration.

What’s the role?
The role involves direct provision of General Practice Services, support for and sharing of skills with other team members and participation in key primary health care initiatives and community consultation.
You’ll conduct 3-week stints in towns like Barunga, Wugularr (Beswick), Manyallaluk (Eva Valley), Bulman, Weemol, Mataranka, Jilkminggan, Minyerri, Ngukurr, and Urapunga (Rittarangu); re-grouping in the Katherine office between visits.
What do you need to apply?
9. Specialist registration as a General Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
10. Fellow of RACGP or ACCRM
11. Broad based experience in primary health care appropriate to working in a rural/remote location
12. An understanding and commitment to the principles of Aboriginal community control of primary health care delivery
NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
