Their Analytical Services Branch conducts chemical and biological measurement on a wide range of samples including water, soil, food, and pharmaceuticals.They currently have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician/Analyst to prepare samples for trace elements and other inorganic analysis in their Inorganics Laboratory in Sydney's north west.Duties include:Sample preparation of environmental and food/biota samples to allow trace elements analysis using ICPMS/ICPOES and CV-AFS instruments.Preparing batch QC samples as per their documented method and Quality manual.Working within a team environment, prioritising work to achieve targeted turnaround times of results.Undertaking laboratory equipment calibration and troubleshooting.Understanding and following their WH&S manual and safety SOPs particular to the Inorganic laboratory.Ideally you will have:Tertiary qualifications in science, ideally chemistry or biology.Knowledge/experience with sample preparation for trace elements within an analytical or food testing laboratory.Knowledge of good laboratory practice within a NATA accredited laboratory.A strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.The ability to work under minimal supervision and be self-driven.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Eligibility:Must be an Australian citizen and able to secure and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.To submit your application in strict confidence, click the 'apply' button.
