As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll engage in hands-on maintenance and repairs within our Mill's crushing stations, focusing on essential components like hydraulics, gearboxes, and pumps. By collaborating with various departments, you'll help keep production flowing smoothly while maintaining our strong commitment to safety and reliability. With both day work and shift work options available, you'll have ample time to embrace your favourite activities.
We have roles available across three incredible North Queensland regions: the Herbert, Burdekin, and Mackay regions. Whether you're drawn to the lush landscapes of the Herbert, the vibrant Burdekin community, or the coastal charm of Mackay, there's an opportunity waiting for you to start your next adventure.

Your Role in Action
* Innovate and Fabricate - Utilize workshop machinery to manufacture engineering components, applying your fabrication skills to contribute to various projects.
* Keep Our Assets Running: Participate in preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, and assisting with fault reporting and repairs to ensure optimal factory operations.
* Empower the Next Generation: Provide guidance and leadership to apprentices and trainees, defining tasks and performance targets while offering valuable on-the-job training and feedback.
* Collaborate for Success: Liaise with the Work Coordinator on costs, scheduling expenditures, and assisting in assessing the economic life and performance of assets to drive continuous improvement
* Document with Precision: Ensure all work orders and permits are accurately completed while maintaining timesheets and standard reports for seamless operations.
* Uphold Quality and Teamwork: Work within a collaborative environment, conducting inspections, identifying problems, and implementing improvements to ensure the highest quality standards.
Your Winning Combination
Our ideal candidate will hold a Certificate III in Engineering - (Mechanical Fitting), along with a current Confined Space certificate, a valid Safe Working at Heights certificate, and a manual driver's license. If you have additional certificates, that's a plus! But don't sweat it if you don't—we're here to help you learn and grow in your role!
