Medicare Mental Health joins with Galambila Coffs Harbour to search for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Social and Emotional Wellbeing Officer, where you will complete intake assessments, manage and assess risks, and apply a holistic approach to wellbeing with a focus on mental health.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be: Connecting with diverse communities, including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) individuals, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those at risk of suicide or homelessness.
Supporting service users with structured activities such as linking with physical activity, housing, and coordinating care with other services.
Organising, collaborating on, and hosting community events, including some that may take place outside regular hours, as well as co-facilitating group programs with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Managing a database of local services and group programs and providing supportive referrals in consultation with the multidisciplinary team.
Maintaining a culturally safe framework.

Demonstrated experience in community development, community capacity building or awareness raising, and group work.
Strong networks and knowledge of local support services to which people may be referred.
