Full time Kilmac Civil, a well-established civil construction business with over six years plus of operation in Sydney, is currently in search of an adept Civil Engineer to join our expanding team. The Role: Primary Responsibilities: Determining construction techniques, selecting materials, setting quality standards, and preparing and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, methods, and procedures for construction. Organising and managing on-site labor, coordinating the delivery of construction materials, equipment, and machinery, and creating detailed schedules for site activity coordination. Collecting soil and rock samples at various depths, testing them for strength, compressibility, and other factors that impact the behaviour of soil and rock under structural loads, and calculating safe load capacities. Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings to estimate total costs and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates for budget management. Monitoring design changes, evaluating their impact on costs, and measuring, valuing, and negotiating variations to the designs. Analysing structural systems for both static and dynamic loads. Designing structures to prevent collapse, bending, twisting, or undesirable vibrations. Evaluating current and future travel patterns, considering population growth and changing needs. Designing the physical infrastructure of transportation systems, including highways, railroads, urban transit, air transport, and logistical supply systems, along with their terminals. Qualifications & Experience: Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering. Management/Built Environment, or equivalent robust trade experience. Strong comprehension of civil infrastructure works, engineering drawings, and specifications. Keen attention to detail. Demonstrated track record of minimum 3-5 years plus in civil industry or similar first principal estimating experience is ideal.
